New EPA Guides on Construction Waste Disposal

Waste generated from construction and demolition sites, including soil, contaminated soil and demolition waste, must be disposed of or re-used lawfully.
In NSW, the owner of the waste, waste transporter and receiver of the waste may all be guilty of an offence when waste is transported to a place that cannot lawfully be used as a waste facility.
The Toolkit and Guide are designed to strengthen waste processes from the outset, help industry bolster their contracts with waste transporters, and factor in waste control measures from the beginning of the procurement process through to disposal.
Relevant to both private and government organisations, the Toolkit refers specifically to the tender, contract and project management phases of construction projects.
