Building certification is an important part of construction. It provides assurance to the home owners and builders that their buildings are safe for use. The process helps ensure that all building codes have been met, while also providing a check on safety features such as fire protection, accessibility, and structural soundness.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding the requirements for issuing CC's and CDC's
  • Requirements for Inspections
  • Overview of Inspection requirements
  • Understanding Occupational Certificates (pre & post) requirements
  • What are the warranty requirements under the Home Building Act, understanding what this means for Certifiers
  • Awareness of various defects, reports and solutions

Assessment:

The Speaker will provide an opportunity to ask questions.

Once the Webinar has concluded, attendees will be required to successfully pass a short Knowledge Quiz before CPD points are awarded. This contributes to the professional standing of our members and the Association.

Our Speaker:

Adam Southwell

Building Surveyor ( Unrestricted) Associate - Credwell

Adam has 11 years working as a Building Surveyor and consultant across council, private certifying and consultancy. He holds a Bachelor of Building Surveying and Certification from CQU with first class honours.

Adam moved to Sydney right before COVID set in and has been running the consultancy team at Credwell who has enjoyed watching his team grow and develop.
Adam has told us he enjoys painting and playing with miniatures and would like to be a stay at home Dad.

Adam has excellent technical understanding and is currently a member of the AAC Class 2-9 Technical Committee.

Cancellation Policy - Webinars
All cancellations are to be in writing - [email protected] - Cancellation requests made with 14 days or less notice will receive NIL refund, due to event venue requirements.
- Full amount will be refunded when registration is cancelled up to 14 working days prior to webinar.
- Cancellations made with less than 14 working days or no notice prior to the webinar, no refund will be provided, however where a Doctor's certificate is provided a credit will be issued.  Transfer / substitution registration is accepted however charges may apply (max for webinar $35).
