Fire Separation

Join the Association of Australian Certifiers (AAC) for this webinar on "Fire Separation " everything you wanted to know and more.

Webinar - Friday, 29 April 2022 - 9:30am to 12:00pm

Building fires are among the most threatening life safety incidents. Fire separation and protection requirements in building codes are intended to delay the spread of fire and the collapse of structures, allowing occupants enough time to exit the building safely before rapid fire spread.  This webinar examines 'Fire Separation', understanding lightweight wall construction and for the Certifier all aspects  leading to the approval process.  Join the AAC on this comprehensive look at Understanding Fire Separation for Certifiers.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding boundary wall construction
  • Understanding the process of signing off lightweight fire rated construction
  • Overview of defects - what to watch out for (key areas)
  • Understanding lightweight wall construction, integration of different systems
  • Determining what documents certifiers need for the approval process
  • Understanding specifications, test reports and assessment reports
  • Schedules for various forms of Fire Stopping (electrical, hydraulic/plumbing, mechanical)
  • Overview of fire suppression systems / tools (fire doors, sprinklers, fire detection, occupant warning, EWIS, fire hydrant/hose reels, portable extinguishes, & electrical systems)

Assessment

The Speaker will provide an opportunity to ask questions during the webinar, the Q&A chat box will be open.
