Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognise when to apply bushfire protection measures
  • Understand how the Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) is determined and if a supplied Certificate seems right for the site
  • Understanding Certifier responsibilities when using a CDC
  • Understanding which legislative requirements are to be met for the Final Inspection.


The Speaker will provide an opportunity to ask questions.

Once the Webinar has concluded, attendees will be required to successfully pass a short Knowledge Quiz before CPD points are awarded. This contributes to the professional standing of our members and the Association.

Our speaker

Managing Director and Lead Bushfire Consultant, Catherine Gorrie from Bushfire Consulting Services

Catherine has over 15 years of experience in the field of bushfire, health and building surveying. Catherine is an accredited Bushfire Planning and Design Practitioner, recognised by the NSW Rural Fire Service as a suitably qualified consultant in bushfire risk assessment and  a Fire Protection Association Australia BPAD-Level 3 Certified Practitioner. 

She has a comprehensive knowledge of complex legislative requirements for bushfire protection, working closely with clients and councils from the planning phase through to completion and provides Certification of the end project.

Catherine established her business "Bushfire Consulting Services" in 2010 and also delivers professional training.  She holds a Graduate Diploma in Bushfire Protection and a Diploma in Environmental Health and Building Surveying.

Cancellation policy
- Full amount will be refunded when registration is cancelled up to seven (7) working days prior to seminar.
- If no cancellation notice is received or cancellation is made less than seven (7) working days prior to seminar, no refund will be provided without a doctor's certificate.
Substitution registration is accepted however charges may apply.
